Days in the Life of a Pattaya Hotel Owner

Despite my complete lack of anything remotely resembling interest in what occurred in Ray’s room with his partner, I cannot stop myself from thinking about it. There he was, covered with several visible bite marks around his neck which must have occurred during a moment or moments of passion. Surely, at some point, he would have felt something below the sheets that would not normally be anatomically present on a member (excuse the pun) of the female sex? I am now left wondering whether Ray was trying to cover his chosen path and that this was an assignation he had gone into with his eyes wide open or whether he is, in fact, just plain stupid. His own admission that, “I find out this morning she’s got a dick,” made it clear that this person was not a post-op transsexual, so that line of excuse had been removed.

However, I found, despite myself, I was thinking more than I really wanted to about the whole Ladyboy or Katoey or transvestite thing as it related to Thailand. I spent an entire afternoon reading articles on web sites and looking at the various types of cosmetic surgery that are available and found it to be a fascinating study. I have endeavoured to ascertain how many transsexuals there are in Thailand but to no avail. However, the figure is certainly in the tens of thousands or even higher.

Most of the stories I found were from men relating tales of how they were almost “duped” in the way Ray was, although in almost every case the writer admitted that he found the person attractive even after the truth had been revealed. Obviously some of these Ladyboys look so much like girls that it must be impossible to tell the difference until it is literally staring you in the face — and that will not be the case with a post-op transsexual will it?

When I was single and out on the town, I had ways of telling … or so I believed. There are several tell-tale signs being all or any of the following — the existence of an Adam’s Apple, Katoey’s are often taller than the real women, have larger breasts, larger feet, bigger hands and deeper voices. In the bars they tend to be rather more heavily made up and their costumes more flamboyant or revealing. If I was ever in the slightest doubt I would make an escape — sometimes there were no signs just a little bell ringing in my head telling me something was just not quite as it should be.

Following on from my afternoon’s research I decided to look up some pictures of fully clothed Katoeys and see if there were ways I could tell that these were men. I then downloaded a few pictures of Thai girls for comparison purposes, thinking that this would make for an interesting competition. I started posting these pictures in my last post, have continued in this post, and will reveal the final batch in my next post. There are 20 pictures in all — ten of which are photos of genuine females and ten of which are pictures of Katoeys. Stay tuned for the last batch of photos and the contest rules!
